Comments: I called Empire because my old motorized shades were not working properly. Eli was very responsive and came that day to look at them. After discussing my options, I chose to get new motors installed. Eli was able to come back the next day and install the new motors. They are MUCH quieter, rechargeable as opposed to battery operated and easier to program. Eli was responsive, pleasant and got the job done quickly. I would certainly recommend Empire.

Comments: They cleaned my blinds following a mold remediation. They were able to get the water stains out of the Hunter Douglas Luminettes, which are extremely delicate. They cleaned my cornice and my Hunter Douglas Vingettes which the contactors had dropped globs of spackle on. They cleaned it within a week and re-installed them. The blinds even smell nice. They do carpet cleaning as well but the price they quoted was very high for my area.

When I contacted Empire I was given a very fair price. The shade was very old and is pleated and made with some type of paper. It had never been cleaned. I was asked if I wanted it cleaned and was skeptical. The price I was quoted was also reasonable. So I agreed. I was told that they would deliver within a week. On the third business day they let me know it was ready to be delivered. The shade works and looks brand new. Far exceeding any expectation. Comments: I gave a deposit one week ago today. Have not heard from the company. The estimator said I needed a new track for my blinds at a cost of $275. It is a big track, about 109 inches. I said I did not think the track was the problem. I think the string that pulls the blinds across simply broke and needed to be repaired. Estimator said no, it's the track. What do I know? I said OK. I can pull the blinds across and the chain that turns the vertical works, so I am pretty sure it's just the cord. Nope, it's the track said the estimator. Gave a $50 deposit and no word yet. I will let you know if they call this week and set up an install date. I actually hope they don't. I want to call someone else to see if it is just the cord. This week I received my deposit back and changed my ratings. The estimator that came about 2 weeks ago, called me and said he would return my money if I believed it was just the cord. My brother in law said he can fix the blinds the next time he visits. I got my money back with no hassle.

Comments: I needed to get a motorized shade repaired. The Service was excellent. They were on time for appointments and delivered the product and diagnosis in the time they specified (although there was a bit of a hiccup in the initial diagnosis in terms of time, but they made us aware of it). Turnaround on project overall was a bit slow as I believe they needed to send the shades elsewhere to be repaired. It felt like it was a bit on the expensive side, but I would use them again as they are very professional, efficient and honest. At the end, the the product worked.

He was pleasant, knowledgeable and I have hopes that this repair - as opposed to the three (!) attempts at 'fixing' the problem by the original installer - will be the final one. Of course, only time and repeated use will tell that. Empire went to the root of the problem, which, they say, is not the strength of the chain but the clutch which contains and releases the chain. They replaced the clutch. And gave me a new chain. Good work.

The original price quoted was astronomical, ($80/blind!) and we had to haggle down to a general price that is quoted for this kind of work. Finally, it seems that the chemicals took some of the finish off of them; there are lines in 2 of them that look like the color has worn off, and one of them looks "speckled". It's very light, and our shades are old, so I wonder if we should have gone with a company with a gentler cleaning system

Comments: The only complaint I have is that they gave me temp. shades but they were stuck on the frames of my windows and when they took them down they took the paint off the frame. The work was good and they were very quick. But I think their prices are high but I wanted it done so I paid what they asked. They restrung two shades, replaced the header on one shade and cleaned both shades for $520. Since I never had this service before I do not know the going rate but they were back in two days with the completed work and it looks very good.
